Weekend updates

Haven't been blogging much lately... running out of words and no crafty updates! Anyway, now I'm here, forcing myself to "write" again...

Let's start with Friday... after the "motivational talk" on wednesday, friday was another round of fun and motivation. They came up with some "fun" and "games" which I don't quite understand what is the purpose of it. Nevertheless, I just join the crowd! We were given a lipstick and the "license" to go around kissing your colleagues, leaving them a lipstick mark on the cheek, neck, shoulder, back, chest, and anywhere else visible! Guess the more lipstick marks you get, the more popular you are?? I dunno... they wanna encourage better communication among colleagues.

Yesterday, I had my fav bak kut teh with bubu and also meet up with complicated-simon for a drink... nothing much, just catching up...

Today, went flea market with puikuan and aiping, then mamak with meili and miss lain! Yup, meili is back! Will be here for 7 weeks I guess? Happy and excited to share all the crafty ideas together... I've to get my hands moving again.. I need inspiration!!!

Motivational talk

Had a ˝ day event at the Convention Centre today, employee meeting that turned out to be more like motivational talk! hmm.. our CEO is like the 2nd Anthony Robbins! Talked about passion, trust, honesty, respect, commitment and all... that of course, have to relate to our day-to-day work.

I still remember Tony Robbins once said "Remember, we never failed.. we just learnt something new!" ;)

Mini greens...

Feeling bored and empty, I got myself a mini plant for my workplace. With the plant, I feel fresher and livelier, though it's just a very very mini plant floating inside a mini transparent container... you can tell how bored I am huh? Hope the 3 lonely leaves will grow to 6.. then 12... then.............

Doesn't look that mini? Here's the original size...

Tarot

Tarot is a divination system that uses a set of cards to gain insight and achieve greater control over issues involving relationships, opportunities, and life changes. A snapshot of what is going on in the Present, the time you are picking the cards. Mysterious...

New hairstyle

Finally had my hair cut yesterday. Brought a magazine along to show Klement the hairstyle that I want. He was excited that I finally wanna try new thing... and before I can change my mind *CUT CUT CUT!!* there goes my hair... I was screaming and shouting while he's cutting it... it's so short!!! It doesn't look like what's in the magazine! Maybe because I don't have a long neck *sigh*

This morning, I've problem styling it.. put lotsa lotsa wax, sculpting lotion, etc etc (whatever that I have at home) to get the style out.. but still.. the style isn't there! Damn, feel like putting my head in the oven and bake it..

Chap Goh Mei

Today marks the last day of Chinese New Year aka chinese valentine's day. There should be lotsa singles by the river tonight.. throwing mandarin oranges, wishing to get a good partner ;) I guess mandarin orange is too small and too common.. maybe we should try throwing pomelo. Bigger and easier to be spotted by potentials... hmmm.. seems like the custom is originated from Penang!

Blown-up heartbreaker

New version of the heartbreaker. Bigger.. puffier... about the size of a ciggy box! Maybe soon it'll be blown up to huggable soft toy size! hahaha.. kidding!

I sold many plushies today! So happy... Charles, the dream board guy is in KL. I'm finally done with his "What's your dream?" tee too! Rushed the whole morning till afternoon to get the "board" up and sew it on the spot on his white tee just now coz I do not have a plain tee (and don't really know his size anyway!). It turned out.. errmmm.. really like the board sticking to his chest!

He also got us a tee designed by him, with his "shadow" at the back and the photo prints that he took at the KLPAC earlier in January. So nice of him.. thanx Charles!

These are the plushies that he took from me today... bye-bye plushies.. gonna miss u guys!! Have a safe trip back to Singapore!!

Flooded

This is my office today. The pantry area is flooded due to the water dispenser. The water has gone all the way down to 31st flr! Imagine.. 3 flrs down!!! 33rd flr must be in really bad condition. Guess we've to bear all the damages..! Now the office is so noisy.. people have been vacuuming the water from early morning till now.. pity them!

Btw, here's something that I wanna share.. got this email from a friend this morning..

Lessons of Life

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree! was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up. If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:
Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.
Don't judge life by one difficult season.
Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time or later.
